Yamaha Matteo Mancuso Signature Revstar RS20MM: Everything We Know

Yamaha has launched the Matteo Mancuso Signature Revstar RS20MM: a chambered, flame-topped Revstar with DiMarzio pickups and gold hardware. Here are the specs.

Matteo Mancuso is one of the most talked-about guitarists of his generation. The young Sicilian plays with his fingers instead of a pick, and his fluid, jazz-influenced lines have earned praise from players like Steve Vai. Now he has a signature guitar: the Yamaha Matteo Mancuso Signature Revstar RS20MM.

Mancuso unveiled the guitar at Guitar Summit 2026 in Mannheim in September, and Yamaha released it in early October.

What Makes It Different From a Standard Revstar?

Chambered body and Acoustic Design

The body is chambered, which reduces weight and adds resonance. Yamaha also uses its Acoustic Design approach, tuning the body’s resonance for a more open, lively sound. For a fingerstyle player with a light, dynamic touch, that responsiveness matters.

DiMarzio PAF 36th Anniversary pickups

A switch from Yamaha’s own pickups to DiMarzio’s PAF 36th Anniversary humbuckers, a classic vintage-voiced design with clarity and warmth. Combined with five-way switching and the push-pull Focus Switch, you get a wide range of sounds from one guitar.

Upper-fret access

A refined neck heel makes it easier to reach the top of the neck, which you’d expect from a player who spends a lot of time up there.

Looks

Gold hardware, a flame maple top in Vintage Sunburst and a custom 12th fret inlay give it a classy, slightly vintage look.

Who Is It For?

Obviously Mancuso fans. But at this price, it’s also an interesting option for any player looking for a versatile, lightweight humbucker guitar with a premium feel, especially if you play jazz, fusion or anything that rewards a touch-sensitive guitar.

A Signature Guitar Still Needs a Setup

Every guitar, even a premium signature model, leaves the factory with a general setup. Getting the action and intonation set for your touch makes a big difference, especially for fingerstyle players.
