If you missed the March edition of the Vintage Guitar Show Veenendaal, you have a second chance this year – and it’s one well worth planning for. The show returns on Saturday 19 September 2026, and based on every previous edition, it’s going to be a great day.
What Is the Vintage Guitar Show Veenendaal?
For the uninitiated: the Vintage Guitar Show Veenendaal is widely recognised as Europe’s largest international vintage guitar show. It takes place twice a year at De Basiliek in Veenendaal, drawing dealers, luthiers, guitar shops and private collectors from across Europe – Belgium, Denmark, Germany, England, France, Luxembourg, Sweden and the Netherlands among them. The result is a single-day event packed with close to 100 exhibitors and over 1,200 guitars, spanning every price range and era.
The focus is on vintage instruments, but you’ll also find newer guitars, custom builds, amplifiers, effect pedals, spare parts, guitar building components, books, accessories and much more. If it’s guitar-related, there’s a good chance it’s somewhere on that floor.
The Venue
The show takes place at De Basiliek, Wiltonstraat 56, Veenendaal. It’s a well-equipped, purpose-built event venue close to the A12 motorway and within easy walking distance of Veenendaal-De Klomp railway station and a Van der Valk hotel – making it accessible whether you’re driving or coming by train. The space is large and well laid out, with separate areas for the main exhibition, the Guitar Market, and a Guitar Cafe in the foyer.

What’s On
The programme at Vintage Veenendaal goes well beyond walking around looking at guitars – though there’s plenty of that too. Here’s what to expect:
The Exhibition Floor is the heart of the show. Nearly 100 exhibitors display and sell vintage guitars and amplifiers alongside pedals, parts, accessories, books and more. Exhibitors come from all over Europe and the standard and variety of what they bring is consistently impressive.
The Guitar Market is a separate room where visitors – not just dealers – can bring one guitar of their own to display or sell. You check it in at the entrance, receive a proof of ownership, and set it up in the space. Whether you stand with it all day to talk to buyers, or leave your contact details and explore the rest of the show, it’s a straightforward and low-cost way to move a guitar you no longer need.
The Open Stage hosts demos, workshops and live performances from exhibitors and invited artists throughout the day. It’s a good way to hear instruments being played as they were meant to be, and there’s always something interesting happening.
The Vintage Veenendaal Awards are presented on the day – one for the Most Authentic Vintage Guitar, one for the Most Bizarre Guitar. It’s a fun element that generates some lively conversation among visitors and exhibitors alike.
The Lottery gives every visitor a chance to win a guitar, amplifier or pedal, plus other prizes.
The Advertising Board lets visitors post a small notice (max A5, one per person) if they’re looking to buy or sell a specific instrument.
The Guitar Cafe in the foyer is open during and after the show – a welcome place to sit down, compare notes on what you’ve seen, and decide whether to go back in for another pass.
Bringing Your Own Guitar
Visitors are welcome to bring one guitar to the show to display, sell or have appraised. Check it in at the entrance desk on arrival, receive your proof of ownership, and you’re good to go. The same document is required when you leave – a sensible security measure that keeps everyone’s instruments safe throughout the day.
Getting There
By car: De Basiliek is close to the A12 motorway, making it easy to reach from Haarlem, Amsterdam, Utrecht, and most of the Randstad in under an hour.
By train: Veenendaal-De Klomp station is within walking distance of the venue. Direct connections run from Utrecht Centraal, with easy transfers from Amsterdam and Haarlem.
Is It Worth Going?
Every time, without question. The Vintage Guitar Show Veenendaal has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere that you don’t always find at larger trade events. There’s no pressure to buy, conversations with exhibitors and fellow visitors flow naturally, and the sheer range of instruments on display makes it a genuinely rewarding day regardless of whether you leave with something new or nothing at all. For guitar lovers in the Netherlands – and those willing to travel from further afield – it’s one of the best events on the calendar.
Mark 19 September in your diary. You won’t regret it.
